1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using TeachBack, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
TeachBack is an AI-powered learning platform that helps you study by teaching material back. You upload or paste study materials, and the platform breaks them into sections you teach to virtual students. The service includes AI evaluation, XP rewards, streaks, an exam question bank, and practice features.
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use TeachBack. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that infringes on copyright or intellectual property rights of others.
- Upload malicious files, malware, or content designed to exploit the system.
- Attempt to manipulate XP, scores, streaks, or other gamification features through automated means or API exploitation.
- Use the service for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service.
- Use the service to generate content that violates our AI provider's usage policies.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of all study materials you upload or paste into TeachBack. By uploading content, you grant TeachBack a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not share your content with other users or use it for purposes beyond providing the service.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
TeachBack offers a free tier with limited daily sessions and a paid subscription with unlimited access and additional features (Exam Bank, practice mode). Paid subscriptions are billed weekly or yearly through a secure payment processor. You can cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
If a payment fails, you have a 24-hour grace period during which paid features remain accessible. After the grace period, your account reverts to the free tier. Your data (including banked questions) is preserved and accessible again if you resubscribe.
7. AI-Generated Content
TeachBack uses AI to evaluate your teaching responses, generate follow-up questions, and provide feedback. AI-generated content is provided as-is and may occasionally be inaccurate. TeachBack is a study tool, not a substitute for professional instruction. You should verify important information independently.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep TeachBack available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service depends on third-party infrastructure and may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or outages beyond our control.
9. Limitation of Liability
TeachBack is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TeachBack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon account deletion, all your data is permanently removed.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
