Study materials: Text you paste, documents you upload (PDF, PPTX, DOCX, images), and the chunks derived from them. These are stored in your account and are not shared with other users.
Session data: Your teaching responses, scores, exchange history, and XP progress are stored to provide continuity across sessions.
Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. We store a reference ID and your subscription status but never see or store your credit card number.
Usage data: We collect standard web analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product. We do not sell this data to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the TeachBack service, including AI-powered teaching evaluation and question generation.
- To process your study materials into teachable sections using AI.
- To track your learning progress, XP, streaks, and rank.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, billing receipts).
- To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns.
3. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate TeachBack:
- AI processing: Your study materials are sent to an AI provider to generate evaluations, questions, and feedback. Your content is processed via API and is not used to train AI models.
- Payment processing: Subscriptions are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never access or store your card details.
- Authentication: Account creation and sign-in are managed by a secure third-party authentication service.
- Hosting and storage: Your data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure.
4. Data Retention
Your account data, study materials, and session history are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual documents from your dashboard at any time. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), database-level access controls, and secure authentication. File uploads are validated by type and stored in isolated, per-user directories.
6. Your Rights
