TeachBack is an AI-powered study tool based on the Feynman technique: the idea that the best way to learn something is to teach it. You upload your study material, and the app breaks it into sections for you to explain to virtual AI students who ask follow-up questions and challenge your understanding.

Upload a PDF, paste your notes, or drop in a DOCX/PPTX file. TeachBack splits it into bite-sized sections. For each section, you enter a virtual classroom and teach the material out loud (or by typing). AI students ask questions, and a scoring system tracks your clarity, accuracy, and completeness.

Yes! The free plan gives you 1 teaching session per day. If you want unlimited sessions, access to the Exam Bank, and practice mode, you can upgrade to a paid plan.

PDF, DOCX (Word), PPTX (PowerPoint), and images (PNG, JPG). You can also paste text directly. Maximum file size is 20MB.

Each teaching session is scored on three dimensions: Clarity (how well you explained), Accuracy (factual correctness), and Completeness (coverage of key concepts). Scores range from 0 to 100, and they only go up. Your best performance is always preserved.

XP (experience points) is earned by teaching, answering questions well, completing quests, and practicing exam questions. XP contributes to your rank progression. You can also spend XP to buy extra peeks at your notes during a session.

Your streak tracks consecutive days of teaching. Teach at least one session per day to keep it going. You get 2 streak freezes that protect your streak if you miss a day.

The Exam Bank is a paid feature that lets you save high-quality exam questions generated during your teaching sessions. You can organize them into decks and practice with spaced repetition.

TeachBack works in any modern web browser on desktop and mobile. For the best experience, we recommend using a laptop or tablet since the classroom interface is designed for larger screens.

Yes. Your study materials, sessions, and scores are private to your account. We never share your content with other users. AI processing is done via API calls that are not used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

On the sign-in page, enter your email address and click "Forgot password?" next to the password field. You'll receive an email with a link to set a new password.

Go to Settings and click "Manage Subscription" to open the billing portal. You can cancel anytime. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Processing usually takes 1-3 minutes depending on document size. If it's been more than 10 minutes, try refreshing the page. If the document shows "Failed", you can delete it and re-upload. For very large documents, try splitting them into smaller sections.
